About the seminar

At the seminar Ole Wæver, Poul Poder and Isabel Bramsen will present the introduction chapter to the forthcoming Routledge anthology: Resolving International Conflict: Dynamics of Escalation and Continuation, which is built on CRIC’s work for the past four years. The purpose of the seminar is to discuss the manuscript and to the extent possible, the book as a whole. The chapter entails the following:

  • The aim and rationale of the book: Revitalizing conflict studies and Exploring the role of emotions, expertise, third-parties, and memory in escalation and continuation of conflicts.

  • Theories and Conceptions of Conflict – an Overview

  • Introducing the theoretical framework: Dynamic conflict theory re-animated – The SIT Model

  • The Relationship between Conflict Analysis and Conflict Resolution

  • Brief introduction of individual chapters
