CRIC Director Ole Wæver contributes to anthology on the legal issues of Danish military interventions in the 21st Century

CRIC Director Ole Wæver has written a contribution to the anthology 'Robust mandat - juridiske udfordringer ved danske militære missioner i det 21. århundrede' edited by Peter Vedel Kessing & Andreas Laursen.

In his contribution 'Danmark i krig, igen og igen' Wæver discusses two cental and closely linked questions. First he asks how it has come to be that Denmark is considered as an eager contributor to operations of military interventions and secondly, what the motivation has been behind each intervention. By asking these two closely linked questions Wæver illustrates how Danmark indeed has a strong profile in the area of military interventions but also that this profile has not necessarily come about through a linear proces but that it is rather to be seen as emerged from a much more tortuous proces.
